About how you got that ugly scar on your back from antics with the boys? Or how it felt the first time he saw you without your tudung on? Or why your car seat smells the way it does?
Nobody knows these stories of yours… Except you. And we feel they are important stories to put on the big screen.
So here’s our invitation to you:
Let’s put our stories and experiences online and try to come up with an awesome movie script. Let’s talk about that script. Who do you think should act in it? Where shall we shoot this? What shall the character wear? Send us photos. Send us audition videos. Send us art direction ideas. Let’s make this movie a truly Malaysian movie, BY the people, FOR the people.
HOW?
Ride on this creative journey with us! Comment and collaborate on every post that we put up. Let your voice out, let your hair down and be creative. Be fearless, be whimsical, be deep, but above all, be yourself.

From this forum, our filmmakers will interact with you. We will work at honing the most suitable ideas. We will curate, nurture and inter-weave our collective ideas into a full feature length screenplay called Your Grandfather’s Road!. The screenplay should be ready after about two months of the website going live.
SOUNDS EXCITING. WHAT’S NEXT?
We will write and release parts of Your Grandfather’s Road’s script back on this website for you to share ideas on how to make this film.
Tell us how this film should look and feel, who should play the characters, what this character should wear, etc. Show us locations we should shoot in, or pictures that should inspire the look and feel. Video your auditions in if you want to act. Compose music that you think would be suitable. Animate graphics that we could use. Weave, sculpt, knit, dance, paint, and the list goes on and on… There is room for every creative mind to be a part of this project.
IT DOESN’T END THERE
When we shoot this movie, you can come be an extra, a set photographer, a wardrobe assistant, a cable wrangler, a driver, and many many other things…
And it would be a real honour if you would join us on this journey. After all, Your Grandfather’s Road is about Your Country, Your Stories, Your Movie.
